Jeffrey's Story
I did not study much in High School so I think the biggest surprise would be that I attained a MBA and a Masters in International Relations.
The wildest thing I did in high school was when I shot a moon at some of my other classmates in another car.
I would hope my high school friends remember me as being a person that would stand by them in good times and bad.
One of the my favorite things is traveling. If I am not with my wife somewhere in some other country then I hope to be with a close friend talking about different issues with a good cold glass of beer.
I would say the biggest surprise for me is that I am still in the Navy after 23 years. I am about 65 percent sure that I will retire after my next tour but if I make LCDR and they give me the job in Germany then I will stick around for 30.
I truly believe I would not do it any different because my life after high school has been full of great times and I have met a lot of great people in my worldly travels ...Expand for more
while in the Navy.
I have lived in Guam, California (Port Hueneme), Washington (Bremerton), Diego Garcia, Virgina(Virginia Beach), Puerto Rico(Ceiba), Netherlands(Sittard), Maryland(Smithsburg), Italy (Naples), Monterey (California), and back to Maryland. I moved because the Navy sent me to different duty stations throughout the world.
My best duty station was when I was stationed in Netherlands. It was very clean and the people were nice and I was able to ride my bicycle to work without worrying about being run over. They love bicycles and dogs over there which was great. I also worked with a great bunch of people there especially in the Navy Element.
The tour I treasure most was when I was stationed on the USS White Plains (AFS-4) out of Guam. I was young and worked very hard and played hard. I visited a lot of foreign countries then and I learned how great we have it in the United States. I also learned how important it is to learn and understand other cultures.
