Jenee''s Story
Life
I taught at Gladstone High School for 6 years. This past year, I was honored to be hired as Gladstone's newest counselor. The year is almost up and I must admit, I love my new job. It's so great and I don't miss teaching one bit - no English essays to grade or yearbook pages to edit! Last year, we finished our accrediation process (I was the coordinator) and I'm proud to say we received a 6R - which is the 2nd best accrediation and what I was hoping for. Life is going okay, but it could always be better. Perhaps I'll see you in the So Cal area if you ever visit. Hope everyone is doing well! :)

I graduated from APU with a degree in social science and supplements in English and PE. Then I began the teacher credentialing program. Half-way in, I was hired at Center Middle School where I did use my history degree, plus I taught language arts....Expand for more
Then I realized that counseling would be a better fit. Started the program, transferred to the high school and have been there ever since.
Workplace
I was hired at Center Middle School in Azusa back in February 1999. I spent 2 1/2 years there teaching 7th & 8th graders, plus coaching boys basketball and softball. My boy's basketball team won back-to-back city championships! It was really cool. Made me think of us girls when we won at WIS. I ended up coaching that group of boys for 3 years - 7-9 grades!
Then, I transferred to Gladstone High School b/c I want to be a counselor at the high school level and figured I would need to teach there.
My coaching days are over. I do miss it at times, but when I was the yearbook advisor, it took up much more time than coaching ever did. However, I still help out with the game management of various sports - I help w/ the chains for our football games...work at Azusa Pacific for their basketball games...help generally whereever help is needed. I just like sports, so I'll be there.
