Jennie's Story

Life Well, where to begin? After high school I moved out of my mom's house into a house with three room mates. Since then, my fiance, Shawn, and I have lived here and there until March, 2003 when we bought our house in Broomfield. We've been engaged since October 2000. We have two dogs, (Jake and Erin) and a cat named Zeke and another, Katie. From November 2004 until February of 2005 I was living in Twentynine Palms, California with my sister-in-law. . . Yup, my little brother, Robert, is married! He was in the Marine Corps and was deployed to Iraq until April 2005, I believe. I moved out there temperarily to stay with his wife while she was pregnant. She delivered my nephew on Dec. 31, 2004! His name is Robert Alexander, and he looks exactly like my brother. I moved down to the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area) in February with a girl who was so kind to open her home to me while I tried to find a home for myself and Shawn. I got a great job at an interior shutter company in San Bernardino and we planned on uprooting our lives to be there. But, plans have now changed and I moved back home to Colorado in the second half of July. Life is basically back to normal again. I liked being in Cali, but there's no place like home. Besides, this desert thing really sucks! Winter there is pretty awesome though. I loved being able to lay out in the sun and get a tan in February! Anyway, I've taken up painting. That started sometime in 2003. Nothing too complicated but it's my passion. It's so therapeutic! I've tried to paint a few portraits, but I still don't know what I'm doing so they don't look quite right. I plan on going to school and take art classes. Maybe one day ...Expand for more
open an art gallery/studio for amateurs (like me). For now, Shawn and I are planning on staying around the Broomfield area but maybe some day move to Illinois so he can be close to his home town. Wedding plans are slow as of now, there has been too much going on otherwise. The more time goes by, Vegas looks better and better. I hope all is well with all of you and God bless. Workplace After High School I endured the torture of Eagle Harware becoming Lowe's and left to workat The Louisville Home Depot from March, 2001 until March 2005. I started there in the Garden department and then moved shortly thereafter to Decor. Later I sold carpet as I was terribly bored selling blinds and wallpaper. That tends to happen when you know everything about a subject. Home Depot let me transfer out to California for a short time. I was originally going to be there for six months. While in the process of transferring back home early an amazing opportunity presented itself. An interior shutter manufacturer in San Bernardino, CA needed a person for thier in-home sales team. I loved working there because I spent most of the day on the road seeing Southern California. Plans changed though, so I left them to move back home in July 2005. Which was a little scary because I didn't have a job in Colorado yet. Since I've been home I spent a few months working for a pharmaceutical company in Broomfield as an inside sales rep/administrative assitant. Talk about a change from the hardware business! Currently I'm working at a real estate investment trust as the staff services coordinator. I'm having fun and working my tail off. It's located by DIA so the drive is interesting - ha!
