Jennifer's Story
Life
When I graduated from High School I went to Texarkana Community College and graduated with an Associates degree in Arts in 2000. After that I went to Southern Nazarene University where I got another Associates degree in Arts in 2002. At SNU I studied Vocal Performance and Christian Education. After I graduated I had every intention in moving back to Texas, but God had other plans. I stayed in Oklahoma and got an apartment and a job working at Mardel Christian Education and Office Supply Store. I worked there for almost 3 years. After 2 1/2 years there God called me back to school for Early Childhood Education.
In 2005, I started working at Childtime Learning Academy and found 2 little girls, Madeline and Melinda(who are in the pictures below), that I absolutely fell in love with. They were living with their aunt and were in Foster Care. I started helping take care of them and we grew closer and closer together. Melinda was 9 months and Madeline was 5 years old. In 2006 I changed jobs and started working at Teaching Little Hearts and Hands Learning Academy. This job started out with something that was the hardest thing in life... The courts were sending the girls back to live with their parents. My heart broke at the thought of not having them with me and taking care of them. Fortunately, their parents were nice enough to allow us to stay in contact and let me take the girls on the weekends. They even went to Ohio with my family for a summer vacation. When we came back my world started falling apart. I sprained my ankle in my apartment and ended up on crutches. In August of 2007 my Grandma died and my family took another trip up to Ohio. Then in September I was evicted from my apartment because of a mistake I made on the original application. I felt that God was telling me to move back to TX with my family so that's what I did. So here I am back in TX living with my parents, away from the girls, and I finally got a job four months later. I am now working at Redlick Christian Preschool.
