Jennifer's Story
Life
I left Highland Park to attend Lakehill Prep School, but I still have many wonderful friends from HP. After graduating from Lakehill, I went to school in Missouri, but ended up graduating from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in Psychology. I have my Master's in Counseling, and if I can help it, I'll never walk into another classroom! I have been married since 1993. I have a son, Ryan, and a daughter, Elizabeth. My husband's name is Eric. I taught at Lakehill for a year and absolutely loved it, but we had to move back to Nacogdoches, so I taught another year before beginning my Master's here. I have been a psychotherapist ever since. I love hearing from old friends, and would love to hear from anyone. I have great memories of high school and have fond memories of everyone. School
My favorite memories were exam "stress relief" with Jennifer Postl and burping contests with Kyle Nye. I liked having 2 dates to Homecoming my senior year, although I ended up dancing with the Quick Pic guy because...Expand for more
they both hooked up with chicks at the dance. That was funny. I was happiest whenever I was with my friends, and I had so many of them, so I was lucky. I don't know that I'd go so far to say that I'd do highschool over again, but it added so much to my life that I don't regret a moment. I also have fond memories of HPHS as well as that small amount of time I got to go to school in Lake Highlands.
College
I had "real college" and then "productive college." Real college was fun and was exactly what it should have been: partying and not doing well in class. Productive college was necessary to give my family a good life, so I graduated with honors and moved on to graduate school. Very practical.
Workplace
I'm currently a mental health counselor, psychotherapist, whatever you want to call it. It's definitely rewarding, and I love doing it. Although, if I ever won the lottery, I can't say I wouldn't mind traveling and doing other things of interest. I certainly wouldn't work if I could avoid it! I'd probably spend my days betting horse races or something.
