Before joining the Atlanta Public Schools, Ms. Freeman worked with the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute as a marketing catalyst and project analyst. She worked at the Georgia House of Representatives as a special project manager in the Speaker of the House’s office and the Community Affairs Committee. In this role, she responded to constituent inquiries, conducted community and business analysis and worked on special projects; master scheduler (media, VIPs ans dignitaries). Ms. Freeman also served as Executive Assistant to the Commissioner and Communications Officer at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the sales and marketing agency for the State of Georgia. Ms. Freeman was promoted over five times in varies positions. Ms. Freeman was responsible for overseeing the operations and internal communications of the Commissioner’s Office, private sector initiatives in the agri-business, biotechnology, international trade and automotive industries. She was also responsible for analyzing and reporting market trends to senior management to ascertain state and regional competitiveness. resources she has gained during her professional career and civic leadership. In addition, she has developed processes and client relationship analysis in a wide array of industries. Most significantly, she played a key role in the analysis and execution of stream-lining the transfer of information from the state’s international offices and the Atlanta office. She was a member of the state’s Olympic marketing team, and the G8 Summit. Ms. Freeman helped secured thousands of jobs and millions in revenue for the State of Georgia. Other positions held with this agency include assistant communications officer, senior marketing manager, interim international trade manager and international trade services coordinator. Ms. Freeman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, minor Public Relations from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a certified sales professional and has started the process of working toward becoming a certified economic developer. Ms. Freeman aspires to pursue a master of public policy, public administration or organizational leader.
