Jennifer's Story
Life
I graduated in May, 2003 from Valdosta State University with a Masters degree in Special Education. Last year I taught a self-contained class for students with mild intellectual disabilities. This school year (2004-05) I will be teaching resource (learning disabilities, emotional behavior disorders, mild intellectual disabilities- they come out to me for about an hour a day usually... then they go back to class!) I live in Martinez, but teach at Hephzibah Elementary (way the heck out there) in the mornings and at Jamestown Elementary (in Hephzibah, but by the base). I got married on May 29, 2004 to Phillip Hodges. I know, I know... but I promise we aren't related to each other. We checked! Things are going very well for us right now! :)

My first job was during the summer after my freshman year of college... right after I got my driver's license, I started working from 5-10 at night doing data entry. Then in the fall, I was a Resident assistant. I had that job for 3 school years. The summer after sophomore year, I worked in the medical records department of an outpatient mental health center... sucked! The next summer, I worked in the HR department of a cookie factory... gained 5 pounds that summer. I didn't work during my master's year or during the summers (too many classes.) I then began my teaching career at Hephzibah Elementary school. I switched positions from self-contained to resource for the next year, and picked up another school, Jamestown Elementary. And that's where I am now!
