Jennifer's Story
After high school, my life consisted of working fulltime, going to night school, and buying my first house at 20. Many years of this was frustrating enough to find me taking leave of my job and resuming school full-time for a year at USF in Tampa, Fl. In retrospect I should have stayed and gotten a Masters, but I felt so burned out I got a job as a computer programmer. I moved my Piper Tri-Pacer airplane down there and had a heavenly couple of years flying and sailing. Regrettably, I moved back to Northern Va. to occupy the empty (non-rented, money-draining) townhouse....Expand for more
After many years of working for contractors with a clearance, I got married and quit the job when my first child was 3. Now with a husband, 2 boys (11 and 16 years old), two dogs and one bearded dragon lizard, I have resumed my second career as a teacher assistant in an elementary special needs classroom. I don't know if this is what I want to do when I grow up, but the job keeps me hopping and it's always a challenge! On my 'bucket list' are seeing the redwoods, visiting Alaska, diving the great barrier reef, seeing cathedrals in Italy, and getting my pilots license.
