Jennifer's Story
Life
September 2002: In June 1986 my family and I left Petaluma, California for RAF Feltwell, England where my father was transferred. I entered RAF Lakenheath American High School in August of 1986 for my junior year. I graduated from LHS in June of 1988. I enrolled at the University of Maryland at RAF Mildenhall and worked at the Four Seasons Base Exchange. I left England in June 1990 to return to Santa Rosa, California and enrolled in Sonoma State University. In 1992 I started working for the company I now work for.
April 2005: Today, I'm married with four great kids...three are his, one is ours. Becky is 21 years old and is attending college; Jeff is 19, a graduate from Casa Grande High School and is serving the US Army in S. Korea; Kyle is 18 and graduating from high school in June; and last, but certainly not least, Kevin Jr. will be 3 next month...oh, and we're expecting ...Expand for more

July 2007: The past 2 years have been quite a journey. My brother died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2005...he was only 41. On October 20th we welcomed Jacob Miles Barkdull to the family. Five months later our son Jeff came back from S. Korea and was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Kevin Jr. started school in August 2006. Jeff was able to get leave and came home for Christmas this last year...it had been three years. It was a special treat having him home, because on February 6, 2007 he was deployed to Iraq where he is still serving.
Me...I've been working for the same company for 15 years now as an executive assistant! Since having Kevin Jr. in 2002 I've cut my work hours to part-time and I'm lucky enough to have a very flexible schedule. These days my time is spent as a taxi, a room mom, PTA member, and bake sale coordinator...and I'm loving every minute of it!
