Jennifer's Story
So where has life taken me after Wesclin??
After graduating from wesclin, i went to Belleville Area College on a tennis scholarship, which i made it to the college NAIA nationals in Tuscon, Arizona. After graduating from B.A.C. i was awarded a tennis scholarship to Sangamon State University (now the U of I-Sprinfield). I played tennis, went to class, and also worked at a hospital daycare and a nursing home with alzheimers patients. I got my Bachelors in Child, Family, and Community Services. My roommate at SSU was my neighbor from trenton, Annette Rakers. College with Annette was a blast.
After graduating from SSU, i was offered a job at an emergency childrens center for abused and neglected children. I work for 4 and half years there. After getting burnt out from seeing these kids and what their parents, siblings, next of kin did to them, i left.
I then was offered a job with Lady Footlocker. I was unsure about mall life, but, i took a chance and started the management trainee position. Within six months i was running the St. Clair square store and then I was offered the LFL in NorthPark Mall in Dallas, Texas and took it. The company moved me and while in dallas i ran 6 LFL stores in the DFW area and moved three times. I met alot of people who are my best friends and i have three beautiful god children!! I met all types of people and alot of celebrities and profession...Expand for more
al athletes. I was just blown away by everything life was offering me. Life was awesome.
I moved back to st. louis in 2006 after losing my aunt to cancer, my mom having a stroke, losing my grandma and my oldest sister being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Call it guilt, but, i love my family and would move half way around the world for them. The company moved me back to st. louis and i am currently at Lady Footlocker in Chesterfield, MO. I live with my two dogs, Sierra and Bradford.
I have always been the type of person who doesn't judge a book by its cover, who will give you my honest opinion, who wears my heart and my emotions on my sleeve and follows my heart. My high school days weren't great, but, it made me the strong, confident, loving, honest, caring woman i am today. If you want to know anything about me; just ask.
.
My inspiration comes from my aunt gloria. I talked to her on the phone the day she died and listened to her struggling to take her last breaths. While i was sobbing telling her how much i loved her; she had the courage to fight thru for a breath and said, "Don't cry, i love you and will see you soon. It'll be alright." Two hours later she died. That's my inspiration; to fight for who i am, what i believe in, what i want out of life and the courage to take risks. I will never, ever, forget that moment and i will never forget my aunt, my HERO.
