Jennifer's Story
Okay, so I didn't actually graduate from UMCP or CCBC-Catonsville, but after 5 years of college & 3 majors, I was burnt out.
What have I been up to? Well, I worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor and pool operator at a couple indoor pools during college & up until I got married. I started dating my husband, Brian, in 1998. Moved in with him & got engaged in 2000. We married in 2002. We moved in with his parents in August of 2000, after a falling out with our roommate, & have stayed with his parents since, at first to "save" money, but really to help them out. They're getting up there in age (72 & 69).
After leaving the swimming pool scene, I tried bartending & waiting tables. Not for me. Ended up in project administration, first for a mechanical contractor and then a general contractor. Currently, I'm working full time for the auto mechanic two doors from my house (gotta love that commu...Expand for more
te) as the office manager, part-time at Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) in Timonium as a customer service rep, and occasionally give ghost tours in historic Ellicott City for Howard County Tourism. Also, I'm an Independent Consultant with Southern Living at Home (a direct sales company), and volunteer with Metro Ferals (a non-profit group that does Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) work in the Maryland, Washington, Virginia area).
No children yet, but I do feed 9 cats on a daily basis. And I have 4 nieces and 1 grand nephew to dote on, thanks to Brian's brother.
For those of you who remember my "little" brother, he's a foot taller than me now, and working with the Theatre Union out of the DC area as a theater technician. My younger sister is graduating from high school on May 30, 2008. If that isn't enough to make a person feel old. I can remember changing her diapers. Sheesh.
