Jennifer's Story
Life
My husband, Michael, and I have been married for 18 years. We have 4 children. My older 2 boys and daughter attend Cy-Creek High School and my youngest son is a 4th grader at Hancock Elementary. My 2nd son is also attending college as well (that dual credit).
My daughter was in a pageant in June. Her first one. In her age group, 600 girls came to the open call. Only 183 made it as State finalist and she was one of them! She did not make it to Nationals, but she does want to compete again (this was her first pageant). When I get her professional photos in, I'll try to remember to post them.
I used to work in accounting, but quit my job on July 28, 2006 to finish my degree in Philosophy and minor in Psychology. I am currently going through the discernment process for approval to go to seminary to study and be ordain an Episcopal priest.
I graduated from UH this past May with my BA in Philosophy and minor in Psychology. I jokingly tell my husband that not only can I tell him where his thinking is wrong but I can probably tell him what is wrong with him! Don't worry, I'm not one of those that is getting ready to hang a sign outside my door. I am not prepared to do psychology work (plus to do anything with it, you really need a Master's). I also graduated with honors (not an easy feat with 3 teenagers and a younger son!) I was .02 GPA points away from getting Magna Cum Laude, but Cum Laude is awesome!
My husband has also switch careers. He was the IT guy in the company he worked for and quit to teach at Fort Bend ISD as a math teacher. He then returned to his previous employment (not the IT position, but one before then) where he worked previously for 12 years.

College
I had a roommate at SFA who would also declare that she was a Baptist and does not drink (yeah, right). I guess she had the exceptions of Wednesday nights when she came back to the dorm drunk. Boy, what fun! (NOT! She was a mean drunk!)
There was the time when in the cafeteria there was spaghetti, I LOVE parmesan cheese on my spaghetti, and when I sprinkled some out, it was BROWN! I looked at the expiration date and it had expired 2 years before. I called over one of the workers in the cafeteria, and said I could go back through the line and get another plate. Thanks, but no thanks!
Workplace
I was a stay at home mom for 11 years, while volunteering at my parish and Boy Scouts (den leader for 5 years). I finally needed some "adult" contact :) Not having much of a resume a place did hire me on as a temp. From that job, after the assignment ended 11 months later, I worked for 1 month (on a temp basis) at the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Not a place I would want to work again, but not because of the people, it is just a really high stress work place, but it does make you appreciate all the work they go through (making 300-400 calls a day is too much for me!) to raise money and the campaigns they do. After that, I worked in the accounting department at my last employment for 5 years before I quit to finish my college education. It was the work I did at my first temp assignment that landed me the job at my last employment. I didn't have a long enough work history to really have my resume pop out. You should never burn your bridges, no matter what! It may just get you a job that you need :)
