Jerome's Story
Life
Ahh, what a long, strange trip it's been...since graduation I've seen this beautiful country of ours from sea to shining sea. I've visited such exotic locales as Okinawa, Japan, Guam, & Morocco. I spent half of 2003 in the deserts of Kuwait and Iraq, and then did the same again in 2004. I've been so busy, it's hard to believe sometimes that it's already been more than 12 years since I left Minnesota. I've now been stationed in Augusta GA for more than a year & a half, after spending the previous 5 years in the paradise that is Hawai'i.

College
OK, I guess this is more a "college is as college does" sort of thing. It is technically an institute (what's the difference, I guess), and the nearest thing to an actual college that I've attended. I was here for just over 16 months studying the Arabic language and culture for the military, and get...Expand for more
ting paid for it. 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Someday, eventually, I'll attend a more mainstream college, but this works for now...
Military
I guess I should put something here since the military has now been a part of me for more than 1/3 of my life. I'm now in my 13th year in the Corps. I started out in the infantry, did that for four years. During that time, I attained the specialty of Primary Marksmanship Instructor on both the rifle & pistol & I've earned multiple expert marksmanship awards on both as well. At the end of my first contract, I decided it was time for me to excercise my mind for a while & give my knees a rest, so I move into my current field, Signals Intelligence. I'm now an Arabic linguist, hense my pair of trips to the desert. I've been training & working in this job now for about 8 years. Only 8 years left until I'm able to retire...we'll see where the road leads til then...
