Jerome's Story
Now on the east coast near Philadelphia, I'm happily married (2nd time) with 3 step-kids and one that looks a bit more like me. Parenthood happened to me at age 57. I'm glad that I've stayed active, so I can keep up with him. He's 10 now; loves basketball, playing Frisbee with me, and X-Box with his friends.
I've taken a different path than I envisioned for myself in 1973, but I'm clean and sober (many, many years now) and have avoided incarceration. I guess those are good qualities to have.
Despite having a bit of intelligence, I found that I enjoy working with my hands much more. I have been a computer operator, a sheet metal fabricator, a CNC machinist. I spent a bit of time doing retail and logistics. I retired for a few years, got bored with it, and have re-entered the work force as a school custodian. Money isn't great, but it keeps me busy, and I meet lots of new faces. I'm always ready to impart wisdom on the younger folks.. I find it refreshing to be around young people.

d since 1973. All those years stretching the phone cord to extreme lengths to gain a bit of privacy, and now everyone walks around with one, and it has become the hub of life to many. We can even have watches like we saw on Dick Tracy cartoons way back. And computers, from the ticker tape kind of thing in Mr. Taylor's math class to what has it become today.
I've enjoyed social media and the ability to reach out and rekindle relationships, but I am disheartened by the way that same media has allowed us to throw so many people away due to their opinions and political leanings. Never did I expect the kind of vitriol that spews out from people I knew way back, when things were mellow. I guess we've all changed a bit.
I've been blessed with good health, despite my earlier efforts to destroy myself through drug and alcohol abuse. I'm very hard of hearing, and my wife is full deaf. We communicate with ASL When we met, she was my tutor. Been married over 11 years. Life has been good. I've made many mistakes, but I'm still kicking.
