Jerry's Story

I remember myself back in school as more of a loner and being pretty dorky. I got married to a Rebel who recently died from cancer. She was quite the catch. How I won her heart is beyond me. Our wedding picture is posted. I joined the military around ten years after graduation, and served for 21 years. How I pulled that off when so many Mr. Hooah types couldn't is beyond me as well. I have five children, two deceased. I work at Fruit Jar Tech (aka, Ball State University. I am getting what we in the military call "Short Timer's Disease" That is what you get when you are in your last year of employment. I am far from that, but I have a countdown clock on my cell already. Usually with this condition, the closer you get to the last day, the less you care about how good you do. Just enough to stay out of trouble. I suspect many of you are going to get that condition soon, if it hasn't bitten you already. As much as I tended to stay to myself, I am surprised by the number of people who reviewed me here. I am not the person I was back then. A good wife, and the military experienc...Expand for more
e changed me. So did being a dad of five. Since I no longer have a wife to report to, I would be willing to meet with any of you who are not too far away, just to see how we both changed, and to catch up. I am also on the FB social media page. If you find my wall, you can message me there, and it will go to my cell phone too. I appreciate those who viewed me. It is a pleasant surprise. I just wish I remembered them all. I just renewed my membership, so now I can check them out. Hopefully I will remember them once I see their photo. I never was good with names anyway. I forget my own. Especially after the names my late wife had for me. But I will be censored if I use them here. I was just a joke between us, but some were pretty harsh. I used to say I am sorry, and she would smile and say "I know you are". If I say excuse me, she would say "I try to". About the only ones I can list here. But it was all in fun, and she was really a sweetheart (most of the time). I am single now, and have no one to answer to. So male of female, if you want to meet to catch up, I'd like that.
