Hopefully, my old friends will remember me as a serious student having a creative mind. I always wanted to be a nuclear physicist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I love to relax, watching television, or play computer games with my wife, Emma. The wildest thing I ever did in school was organize a plot to overthrow Cuba and set it free. Sounds silly, and probably was, but it stimulated my intellect. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have space, a computer , and a set goal to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My greatest inspiration comes from my paternal grandfather, who was more like a father than my own. He and I shared the love of reading which he, without really knowing it, supplied the books in his own library when I was nine or ten years old. His death in 1975 left me heartbroken, but I recall his sly smile, his laughter, and his patience which I seem to have inherited from him. My other hero was my paternal grandmother, who taught me what it was like to have a creative mind. Without her, I wouldn't be who I am today. I have lived many places since high school. The Air Force took me to Vietnam and Thailand where I was a Vietnamese linguist and radio operator aboard EC-47 aircraft. During my time in the Air Force, I lived in Texas, Maryland, and California. After the Air Force, I moved around Louisiana, Texas, and New Mexico. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my paternal grandfather, because he was my source of inspiration..
