Jerry's Story
Life
I was fortunate to make it out of high school with just 1 extra semester. Into the workforce immediately after HS. Then my music became more important. I played drums with a number of local bands making more fun than money. Music was my life until I turned 24. I then decided it was time to get serious. I Tried a number of things before settling on a fashion career. I was a buyer for a local menswear chain for 6 yrs. Then got into the wholesale side of the industry. Moved to Chicago. Then LA for almost 14 yrs. Back in WI since 94. I've worked in the men's fashion industry for various designers such as Yves St. Laurent, Jean-Paul Germain, and Oscar de la Renta for many years. I began my own consulting business in 2005, which will be my "stepping stone" to retirement. My wife Deb and I have been married since 80. We have a son Mike who was born in 88. Many dogs along the way. I still have a drum set, which Mike playes more than I do. I also enjoy my motorcycle, if it feels like starting!

that "stepping stone thing into retirement! In 2007 I finally got tired of all of the airports, security screenings, hotels, and generally living out of a suitcase for more than 28 years. Took a job in retail to save my sanity and continue doing something in the apparel industry (and, let's not forget the benefits!!) I now work about 35 hours a week at a local department store selling on the men's suit floor.
School
Oh, where to begin? I have many great memories. Mostly the friendships. Some have actually endured all these years. Mr. Sohn developing that "look" that always meant for me to leave the room and get to Mr. Osterndorf's office. Some teachers I liked. Mrs. Dennis; Miss Blix; Coach Stover. Ones I didn't (why bother remembering them!) The smell of the gym. The food in the lunchroom. The day John Kennedy died. Hanging out on "the corner" with Gary Schlimovitz. Girls. Fighting. Going to dances. My little red sports car (61 Healey Sprite).
Most of it was great, and I wouldn't trade that time for anything.
