Jerry's Story
Life
The summer after High School, I met and fell in love with Carol. (A little more on that later) Right out of High School I tried Jr. College. I wasn't much of a student in HS and I was no better in Jr. College so I dropped out after one semester. I had several jobs in the next 6 months and then the 19-year-old son of a guy I worked with got drafted. No way was I going to be in the Army, so I joined the United States Navy. What an adventure that was, and I mean that in a positive way. While serving, Carol and I got married, had two kids and a divorce. Here it is, 38 years later and she and I are still good friends.
After the Navy and divorce I got married again with the same results. Here it is, 33 years later and she and I are still good friends. (Sound like a broken record, doesnÂt it?)
Well, the kids grew up and went to college. My Son is a Naval Officer and my daughter is a radio personality here in Fort Wayne, IN and between them I have one grandson and three granddaughters.
I wonÂt go into all the jobs I held but slowly I settled down and eight years ago I bought stock in the company I was working for and over the years I taken on more and more of the management responsibility. Last year our senior partner retired and now I head the company for better or worse.

olitics. IÂm a died-in-the-wool, neo-conservative Republican. I love God, the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. I like sports, NASCAR and pretty women. In fact, IÂm engaged to a very lovely lady named Mary. I used to look forward to the winter so I could go downhill skiing, but not so much anymore. ItÂs cold on the mountain and besides, IÂm 63 now and I donÂt heal so fast these days.
I am so happy I grew up when I did in the 50Âs and early 60Âs. We of that generation saw many things, an end to polio, the space race, and most important, the birth of Rock and Roll. Who among us will ever forget Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and many other wonderful talents? On occasions I like to listen to some of the oldies. Remember Jackie Wilson? I bought a two record album of his 12 or 15 years ago. I think that was the last Ârecord I bought. Man, could that guy sing and dance. And yes, I went to Graceland in 77 after Elvis died. I still have the newspaper and a lot of those Elvis magazines that flooded the news stands back then.
If I had one wish that could come true, I would wish that I could find a few of you out there that I new and ran around with. If you new me in the Navy or when I lived in Kansas, New Mexico, Florida, Texas or El Cajon California, send me an e-mail. IÂd love to hear from you. Jerry
