Jerry's Story
Life
After Highschool I attended Kent State University and worked several jobs related to automechanics / construction / truck driving. While attending college I met Betsy and we dated for several years. The summer after college we got married and had a fantastic honeymoon in Disney World. The next 5-8 years were pretty stressful, We both completed our graduate degrees at Ohio State University. She an M.D. and me a PhD in molecular genetics. We also have four children, Three boys 14,13 and 6 and a girl 7. We are finally both gainfully employed and starting to dig out of debt. All that schooling wasn't cheap! Anyway, life is going good and I'm very happy. Of course time is a prescious commodity both for work and family. I love mexican food, greek weddings, running, skiing and lifting. I like to read Dean Koontz and Michael Crighton novels. I am also working a novel of my own. I live in Munson, Ohio about a mile from Alpine Ski Resort - go figure, I don't ski!. Our family enjoys going to Headlands beach for cook outs by the lake during the summer. Other than that I'm pretty much the same guy I've always been. I converted to Orthodox Christianity after about ten years of attending services and learning about the orthodox faith. If you're interested in hearing about it don't hesitate to email me, I love to talk about it. Or just search OCA on the web fo...Expand for more
r yourself. I think it may be one of the best kept secrets in the Christian community. In the wake of the turmoil the Catholic Church has been suffering Orthodoxy should be a comforting site to those who are disenfranchised with the Catholic church. Anyway. Thanks for taking the time to read my bio and If you have the time drop me a line and while you're at it add a bio of your own! The class of 1990 isn't real well represented on this site! Take care all
Love in Christ!

College
If you want to be pennyless and misreable for years I suggest graduate school. Otherwise, perhaps a nice trade school! Oye, never again.:)
Workplace
Hey there,
I spent a few years after highschool working as a mechanic, welder and truck driver for Northern Ohio Waste. I've also worked at a few autoparts stores. I also have done several contractor type jobs off and on over the years. After gradution from Kent State University in 1994 I went to Ohio State University and worked as a graduate research associate for several years while I completed my PhD in Molecular Genetics. I worked for a year as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland and also Teaching Genetics and Biology at Cuyohoga Community College and Lakeland. Since 2006 I've been employed full-time as a biology professor at Cuyahoga Community College. Great Job!
