Jerry's Story
I graduated at the end of my junior year (1957) by taking my senior year by correspondence. I went to Texas Tech and then to Medical School in Dallas. I got my MD in 1964 and finished a residency in ophthalmology in Dallas in 1968. I practiced ophthalmology in Dallas after my training. I did the majority of the research for the laser used in LASIK surgery. In doing so, I inhaled viruses and got encephalitis. I spent about seven years in bed. ce I was told there was no hope for me. I developed a new understanding about the role of voltage in the body and got myself well. I still work (age 73) helping people with the new methods I discovered.
My son Scott runs a medical device company, John works for Intel in Hong Kong, Tom is a family practice doc in Keller (near Dallas), Jared is a photographer in Austin, and Tasha has a music company in Austin.
My wife Marilyn and I still live in Colleyville, a suburb of Dallas.
