Jerry Yousko:

CLASS OF 1965
Rye, NY

Jerry's Story

Date: May 20, 2008, After 35 years, I bumped into this website. I'm typing away at my computer, looking out my window I see a giant Laurel Oak tree, a 100' tall, a seedling in 1776. Her giant canopy covers my home in shade, and not far past her, horses, beautiful horses in my neighbors pasture. That's where I live, in the heart of the country, surrounded by horses and all things nature, in Virginia. As I peer over my monitor, I see my guitars lined up like golden treasures from Egyptian antiquity. Vintage guitars from the 60s, Gibson, Fender, Martin, whose strings contain so many memory's, memory's that bring me back to Rye. I grew up there with so many good friends, people you would like to know your whole life, and as time went by I lost touch with most. Time, distance and new family's will do that. great friendships we had. That part lived on. So my daughter decided to go to college in NYC in 1999. She met a girl, Michelle who came from Hawaii and went to Columbia University, and my daughter from Virginia is in Barnard College. The colleges are interconnected somehow so they can become roomates and they did. Oneday, ome asks the other where their parents came from, my daughter said, "my dad grew up in Rye, NY", her best friend Michelle said, "wow, my mom grew up in Rye, Ny" ..... and "she went to Rye High school," and my daughter says, "omygd my dad went to Rye High" ...... like, totally, what if they know each other! It turned out that Michelle's mom is Roberto Grasse class of 1973, I knew who she was, but not personally. No doubt, some of you will know her well. ====== I'll be back to work on this and get some pictures too, ======= ............developing
