Jesse's Story
Life
Currently living in Bossier City with my fiancee' Susan and trying to relax. My experience in Iraq has changed my way of life. I get little or no sleep and have constant headaches that basically make my life a living Hell, but why should I complain, there are people that have or have had a more difficult life than I could ever possibly imagine.
School
I really didnÂt care too much for my first two years at Deridder, but my last two I had the best time of my life. In fact I think I partied a lot more those two years than I ever did in college. By the time I was a Senior I seemed to get along with a lot more people so I enjoyed that year the best.
Friends: These people were my backbone and really helped me forget that I lived in such a crappy place. Erick, Goodknight, Billy, Katie Brown, Eddie, Jamison, Nick, Gus, Joe G., Shannon Howell and Wissmeier
Sports: DidnÂt really play much but it was fun.
JROTC: Enjoyed the last two years of it.
College
My college life was pretty interesting. I learned a lot in the classroom as well a lot in life. I started school in the fall of 1999 and for the first year and ½ I lived in the dorms (Rapides and Bossier)...Expand for more
Â
yuck!!!! In the fall of 2000 I joined Delta Upsilon and met a lot of really awesome brothers and enjoyed my time as undergrad in DU. Spring 2001 I started working for Residential Life in the dorms basically as a security guard until Spring 2003. Fall 2001 I joined ROTC because for some reason I wanted to be an Officer in the National GuardÂ
for whatever I just couldnÂt get into it and went back to my original enlisted contract in the fall of 2002. I call 2003 the Âyear of betrayalÂ, well at least the first 7 months. That part of the year I found out who I could and could not trustÂ
People I never imagined would hurt meÂ
did and it was all behind my back. Picking myself backupÂ
like I always do. I started my last semester (Fall 2003) at NSU. I got an internship at Fort St. Jean Baptiste, giving tours and dressing up as French Marine. Possibly on the most enjoyable job I have ever had. Well as November rolled around I was looking forward to graduating and staying singleÂ
until I met Susan (Psychology Grad Student). I guess we kind of swept one another off our feet!!! To say the least we ended up dating in December and I finally graduated from NSU on December 19, 2003.
