Jessica's Story
Life
Hello to all Shanks graduates. I pray that all of you are fulfilling God's will for your lives. I pray that each of your lives are blessed!!
As for me, I am having a blast. I am married and we have a beautiful little girl. I am in a place in my life that I never thought I would be. My husband and I both are in the military. We place God first in everything we do. We realize that without Him, we would be nothing.
I absolutely love to shop. I love spending time with my church family, especially our youth. Dinner and a movie is great every now and then.
Germany is such a wonderful place to live. There are so many things to do. There is so much history here. Whenever I get the opportunity, I plan to travel and see Europe. I always wanted to see the world and the military is a great career to have while doing this.
I try to keep in touch with friends from back home. I spend a lot of time giving advice and I love it. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Chemical Dependency. After receiving my degree in PSychology I intend to stdy Theology.
As aforementioned, I love what I do, and...Expand for more
where I am in my life. I pray that all of you can say the same. Keep your heads up and always keep GOD number one in your life. Without Him, I would not be where I am right now. I thank God for my husband whom I adore. He is a wonderful man. Also, I thank Him for blessing us with a beautiful daughter. I pray that you all get what your hearts desire.
Lots of love!
Military
I never thought that being a soldier would make me so happy. Army life is wonderful. Of course, like any other career, it has a downside, but all in all it is WONDERFUL.
BCT was not as bad as I thought it would be. Maybe being in JROTC made it a little simpler. It was HOT at Ft. Jackson, but I made it.
Right now, I am still stationed in Germany and loving every minute of it. The exchange rate sucks, though.
Some people thought I was crazy when I decided to withdraw from FAMU, but my decision to join the military is one of the best decisions I have ever made. My husband and I are pleased with what we have decided to do with our lives. I have so many goals and I pray to God that I can accomplish all of them. Imagine me as a DS. Funny, huh?
