Jessica's Story
Life
I live with my husband in Naugatuck, CT in a 1000square foot loft apartment. We currently have 1 cat who reminds me of bugs bunny, and I consider him my child. I work as a CNA/PCA in a local ER as well as an MST (multi-skilled tech)/TT (telemetry tech) at another local hospital on the cardiac floor and in the ICU and I genuinely love my job. When asked if I'm considering coming back to Newtown,PA I almost always respond NO. It wasn't the town for me. I have art/poetry on display at deviantart.com and write in my free time to get out any pent up feelings I don't want to express inappropriately. I've grown and changed since graduateing high school in 2002 from time at college and a breast cancer scare, to my grandmother dieing, getting married, and finding out who my real friends are. I moved to Waterbury, CT and moved in with some friends, not to run away from my past and its generally unpleasantness but to start from scratch and to be so bold as to go some place completely unfamiliar, knowing next to no one from the get go.

lly to work on my associates in nursing or radiology. I haven't fully determined where I want to steer my medical career to suite myself just yet.
Workplace
I am a PCA (Patient Care Aide) at St.Mary's Hospital Emergancy Department in downtown Waterbury, CT. A PCA is the skills of a CNA (Certified Nurses Aide) and then some as I can draw blood, remove IVs, assist during cardiac arrest, do EKGs, and be part of traumas that come in. St. Mary's is an inner-city hospital with daily doses of gang violence, stabbings, horrific car accidents, and beatings. I also work at another hospital a short ways South called Griffin Hospital. It's more of an "up scale" hospital with a piano in the main lobby and kitchens on each floor for families and staff to use. I am a bearer of many titles here as I am a MST (Multi-Skilled Tech)/ TT (Telemetry Tech)/ UC (Unit Clerk). I work on the cardiac floor and in their ICU still drawing blood and cleaning butts and doing urgent EKGs.
Military
Went to ARMY basic at Ft. Jackson, SC 31 March 2004- 25 May 2004. Fractured my left foot, which caused me to twist my knee and partially dislocate my hip. I was honorably discharged 25 May 2004.
