Jill's Story

Life I married Bill in 1974 and currently live in Hobart on 2 1/2 acres. We have 2 great kids, Kate and Ben, who are both married and live close by. We have 5 adorable grandchildren. Our daughter, Kate, is married to Pete and they live in Maple Valley. They have 3 children; Sam, Maeve and Georgia. Our son, Ben, is married to Chanel and they live in Black Diamond and have 2 children: Emma and William. I adore my family! I love music and I love to sing. I learned to ring handbells when I lived in the Wenatchee Valley and found great joy in being in a handbell choir. For now...Life is good. I'm happy. Workplace Met my hubby at Boeing, where I worked as an electronics electrician and after 2 years, decided not to live in the city. We moved to Lilliwaup for 2+ years, then to Wishkah for 9+ years where I worked in the K-12 school as a business office assistant, bus driver and special education assistant. nworth) for 16+ years where I worked in the Cashmere School District for 15 years. Special Education was my passion and I worked 12 of the 15 years in that area. Ended up at the high school as the career center coordinator for 3 years and found that was my niche and the best job I've had! Sad to leave the Wenatchee Valley and a job I loved...but in late 2002 my destiny was to return to the city. Holding true to my profession, when we moved back to Renton, I got a job at the Puget Sound Educational Service District. The ESD provides support and training to the educators in King and Pierce Counties. I've worked in the Special Education Department, Early Childhood Education in the Head Start Department and Technology Services as assistant to the Ex. Director. Currently, I'm the assistant to the Ex. Director of Learning, Teaching and Family Support. My work focuses on Special Education. It's a fast-paced fun group of people and a great place to work.
