Personal Biography
Hello again class my name is Jim Adams, I live in Tacoma Washington and loves the Northwest. I relocated to the Northwest almost five years ago from the South and spent most of my time in Tennessee. My undergraduate work was completed in Nashville at David Lipscomb University and I have a B.A. in communications.
I received a M.B.A. in healthcare management and currently work as the manager of Palliative Care for Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. SMC is the largest hospital group in the Northwest.
For more than a quarter century I have been in the healthcare field in one form or another. For eight years in the 90Âs I was the majority owner of a healthcare practice management company and preformed seminars and consulting services in the Southeastern part of the United States. Sales and sales management have been the areas of focus with my most recent positions and was the regional sales manager for Sullivan/Schein Dental, a Henry Schein Company (HSIC: NASDAQ).
I began consulting again and am president of MBA Concepts. (Management by Adams and my MBA) I am also playing on the fact that I will have my MBA within the year. I do use some of the concepts that I am learning as well of those I used in my former practice management company.

ng and managing their sales activities. I will also be working on territory development and recruitment.
I enjoy boating in the Puget Sound, fly-fishing, and crabbing when not working or studying. I have skydived and even walked on fire. I used to be a seminar junky and worked for a motivational speaker for several years. I enjoy pleasure reading of murder mysteries and my favorite authors are James Patterson, Dan Brown, Tess Gerristsen, and Michel Palmer.
My interest in studying Health Care Infrastructure is to learn useful information and successful models for delivering healthcare. I also want to move forward in my career and possible work for a hospital or assisted living in the future in an administrative managerial role.
Family is very important to me and live with my wife Janie and our two children Brittany age 16, and Christopher 17. Janie is the love of my life and we are best friends that were reunited in a recovery after divorce class in church. I also have two children that are grown that live in Nashville. My oldest daughter Jamie, is a MBA student with the University of Phoenix, Nashville campus. (I just gave her away a few months ago (May 23) when she was married to a nice young man. My oldest son Ryan is in a restaurant management program with Danner Foods. My father is in his late seventies and lives a couple of miles away and we take care of him as well. I would be remiss if I did not mention the baby of the family Boo, our boxer.
