November 2022..... I am amazed at the successes and variety of life stories from the class of 65. Much to my detriment, I have not kept in contact with many of you, The upside to that is your memories are "the way you were" for me. The day after graduation I moved away from home to fill a job waiting for me as a cowboy in central Washington. What a fun experience that was. Have been on my own ever since. I dabbled at various jobs working at Westgate Thriftway, Boeing, Trident Imports, and a couple of others before joining the Marine Corps (1966) in lieu of being drafted into the Army. In 1969, after discharge, I started a new career as a management trainee for a finance company (HFC) eventually becoming Branch Manager of the Puyallup office. After 6 years with HFC, the almighty dollar lured me to Westlake Chevrolet as their Finance and Insurance Manager. At that time, our classmate, Cal Armour, was a Service Manager there. After a year at Westlake, I was recruited By Washington Mutual Savings Bank. That became my life's career employer. I retired from WAMU as Vice-President in 2005 after a 29 year career in various management positions. An important part of my life has always been boating.
