Jim's Story
Life
After growing up in Amherst and going to Amherst College, I now live in Portsmouth, Va., sister-city to Virginia Beach. Here are my basic stats: 1) Graduated from Amherst College in 1981. 2) Married Beth in October 1982. 3) Lived in Western Pa. for 3 years. 4) Moved to Virginia Beach in 1984 (still in the area). 5) Got a master's degree in 1990. 6) Was a marketing writer/editor for 12 years for the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). Since Jan. 2001 I am marketing director for BibleWorks (software program, contact me at BibleWorks.com) 7) I have seven wonderful children (yes, 7) -- Abby, Adam, Joel, Sarah, Lydia, Jemma and Daniel (as of 7/06, they are ages 22-8). School
Started school at Pine Grove Mills Elementary, outside State College, PA, (K-2nd).
Family moved to Amherst, MA, and went to Kellog East (3rd), then North Amherst (4th), then Crocker Farm (5th), and then Junior High (6th-9th) and ARHS (10th-12th).
Then it was off to Amherst College ('77-'81) for a BA in History.
Obtained a master's degree in Public Affairs Journalism from Regent University in 1990.
College
College took five years -- Amherst College for the bulk, but I took a year off between sophomore and junior years , and took some classes at Penn State Univ. Graduated in 1981 from Amherst with a BA in History.
After three years, I moved to Virginia Beach, VA, and got a master's degree in Public Affairs Journalism from Regent University in 1990.
Now life is teaching me every day.
