Jim's Story
Life
Classic Cars and Good Music - Rock and Roll, Big Bands, & Bop Jazz forever.
These and family are the important things in my life. Christy, my wife of 28 years, and I, have 2 sons, 23 and 27 years old. No grand kids, yet.
We have lived in our own home for the last 20 years, in Fontana, CA.
We are classic car people, Christy's daily driver is a '65 Chevy II Super Sport, which I have gradually restored and upgraded with more modern/safer tech features. A '73 Chevy Nova and the show car of them all is the '57 Chevy 2 door station wagon in the profile photo. I completed a frame-off restoration about 8 years ago. Spent about 5 1/2 years replacing every thing with new or rebuilt upgrades. Including disk brakes, rack & pinion steering, MPFI (multi port electronic fuel injection), automatic overdrive trans. Not at all stock, it's a real "Hot Rod". Did the work myself except body and paint.
Christy and I do a lot of charity work through our car club organizations, and participate with other classic car activities locally year round.

f years college and started a professional music career. Playing many rock and roll, and jazz clubs and concerts, up and down the west coast. At one point I hired the same management group as was handling many famous musicians, including Ricky Nelson, Lou Rawls and Linda Rohnstadt. Played with groups such as Frank Zappa, War, Leon Russel, the Birds, the Turtles, Spanky and Our Gang, Flying Burrito Brothers, Black Oak Arkansas and many more. After many years of the "Hollywood" rock scene I got burned out and moved to the country, Oregon, in 1970, for 15 years. Moving back to So. Cal in 1985 to continue a career in the automotive field, spending the last 21 years working for Wynn Oil company in several capacities, sales, manager of Product Warranty, Technical service and now Quality. Looking forward to retirement, restoring more old classic cars and relaxing. Hope to hear from some of my old high school friends. Westminster Band from 63 - 65, send me an e-mail. I would really enjoy hearing from any one who remembers the "good ol' days".
Kind Regards, Jim Baylor
