Jim's Story
Born in Millican Estates I Attended Millican Elementry grades 1through5 .I then had to go to Ogden School for grade 6.This is Where memories begin,our soccer team won the city wide championship the game was played at Mewatta Stadium. I then went on to attend Colonel Walker Junior High School grades 7,8 and 9 1954through 1957.I developed a crush on a girl named Carolyn Kells , nothing became of it (oh well) My first real girlfriend pretty much was arranged by 2 friends Rod Wilkison and Jerry Cross , her name was Charlene Davidson ,we hung for a while then went our own way.Wayne Paul, Jean Harris, Reg Avery and Ed Hancock were instrumental in my first motorcycle (that was a mistake) Ian Rankine and I had a few girl chasing experiences together in those times also "".Iwe...Expand for more
nt to Western Canada High 1957through1959 and in grade 10 I met Mary Ann Nelson , we dated until June 1960 ,married June 6 .Ihad started a career at Canada Safeway 1959 ,worked at and managed several stores throughout Calgary.Mary Ann and I had 2 daughters together,Mary Ann became terminally ill with cancer,so in 1997 I took early retirement . After her passing I took a part time job to keep my mind off her loss,that part time job turned into full time management 24/7 at a car wash 14 years later and still going .I moved into a condo in Bowness near the park and do a little golfing as time or golf partners are available. Sure miss the people and the events from the early days of Millican ,Ogden,Inglewood and high school.That is my long story,hope I didn't bore anyone.
