Hello all, and welcome to my story! it all started just after graduation when my family moved to Cheyenne and i went into the Navy. Frank Irby was in one of our sister companies in boot camp. Had a pretty good time there, spent some quality time in Virginia Beach all summer long in '71, but departed at first opportunity. Went to California for a few unemployed months then back to Cheyenne for 2 yrs, with the only jobs available not to my long term plan. Was talked into moving to Chicago, and within 3 wks i started my long career with Xerox. I wore alot of hats during the next 34 yrs, but due to corporate downsizing, my number came up with 150 others in late 2006 and i was released. My severance allowed me to actually retire (ha ha it always makes me laugh) from X, but the pension i have there is not worth actual retirement. I took a year off to just enjoy family, but needed to find work, mostly because of the family. I did 3 yrs with a Canon company on a production color press, but the economy what it is, that ended at the end of 2010. a few months of age discrimination in hiring practices finally ended with a company that is owned by Xerox and i have been a field supervisor since. I have been married for going on 34 yrs to Barb, who i met doing community theater in the play "one flew over the cuckoos nest'. we settled farther west from downtown Chicago, where becoming a commuter means riding the rails 2x a day for an hour each way. after ten yrs moved even farther away from the city only to have my position changed where i had to drive, to the city each day, every day. believe me when i say road rage is alive and well here in northern Illinois.
