jim's Story
My Overton experience was cut short when my family moved to Texas at the end of my junior year. I finished high school in Texas and went to TCU in Ft Worth. I married the fraternity sweetheart and weâÂÂre still doing our thing. Following grad school (U of Illinois) I chased the corporate ladder in marketing which brought us to Westport, CT (thatâÂÂs about an hour outside NYC) and weâÂÂve been here for better than 30 years now. We have 2 kidsâ¦our son is a college...Expand for more
professor (St JoeâÂÂs in Philadelphia) and our daughter is a kindergarten teacher in Beaumont, TX. They have given us 3 grandkids.
About 20 years ago I set up my own shop with some partners from my corporate lifeâ¦itâÂÂs a blend of marketing consulting and venture capital. We take stakes in undermarketed/underdeveloped companies, hoping that we can make a difference down the road. ItâÂÂs a rigorous business and I am transitioning to a more balanced lifestyle.
