Jim's Story
I am married to my second wife of twenty years, Gayle. I have two sons and one stepson, Stacey, Carey and Shane. All together Gayle and I have six grand children, three boys and three girls. After high school and the Army, I worked for Dekalb Police and retired in 2000. I immediately went back to work for Dekalb Schools where I am currently employed. Shane, a Corporal Detective with Doraville GA Police, was taken from us on November 14, 2011, when he was hit and killed by a drunk driver in I-20 in DeKalb County. Shane was the on call detective and was responding to a home invasion robbery that occured in Doraville. Our lives have been changed forever. He leaves behind a new wife of two months and an 8 year old son.
