Jim's Story
After high school, I went to Marshall and studied mechanical/electrical engineering for four years. I got married to my wife of 52 years in 1972. Went to work for the City of Huntington in 1974, In 1976 my daughter was born, In 1977 i accomplished my lifetime goal with the first race car. That was probably the happiest day of my life. 10-mile race in Huntington, by my middle fifties I took up triathlons and continue to run to this day. I won 25 races in 2022 and 17 in 2023 including Ohio University and Hatfield and McCoys an international race. The awards are awarded for age groups mine is 70-74 i. Most of my competition is dead. The average lifespan for a man in America is 73.6. I can remember when there were 250 in my age group the most I have seen this year is 15.
