Jim's Story
Life
IÂm a retired music educator. IÂm also an active writer in the field of television, radio short form comedy and music education. My writing credits include numerous magazine articles, books for parents regarding their childÂs music education, a band method, and technique books for band and orchestra. My most recent project in the field of music education is ÂMusic Connections: A Bridge to Performance, a general music text and student workbook. I have a number of radio and TV writing credits including that of head writer for several PBS television productions. I am finishing my twelfth year as a staff writer for the Gary Burbank Show on WLW Radio in Cincinnati.

r of Fine Arts in Music Education from Ohio University and a Master of Music Education from Wright State University. My 33 years of public school teaching experience includes 22 years of classroom experience in band, choir and general music and 11 years as Music Supervisor for the Kettering City School District in Kettering, Ohio.
IÂm a member of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Education Committee and President of the Kettering Arts Council. IÂve directed the Kettering Civic Band, the NCR Youth Band and the Five Rivers Metro Parks Summer Band. I live in Kettering, Ohio with my wife Janet (Taylor) Probasco (CHS Class of 68) from Six Mile Turn. We have three grown children - sons, Dana & Brad and daughter, Erika. We have three grandchildren.
