Jim's Story

Life Wow they only give you 4000 charcters to do this!!!! Hi, thought I would jot a note and say hi. Wow, where has the time gone. Guess if you are read in' you wondering about me' gee tanks! back in '65 I recieved my invitation from Uncle Sam and was to report on 12/8 boy I fooled them. I enlisted in the Air Force, wasn't bad duty, stationed three places in the states before going to Germany for 2 years (great duty) got'ta see alot, then transferred to Africa for 6 months (before Kadilfi kicked us out) back home I enrolled in computer school (didn't think computers would catch on, but!) Went to work for Standard Oil, computer billing and met my first wife. Married then changed careers..real estate. Licensed in 1972 Broker in 1976, crazy times then, buying and selling, opened an office, hired agents, life was good, big house in Alamo over the years I have managed real estate offices for Prudential, Merrill Lynch, Saxe, largest office was 70+ agents, (if they only knew!!) Evenually I was hired to run an office in Roseville, thought of the challenge of going somewhere where I didn't know anyone would be great experience! it was..........so, got involved in real estate lending in the early 90's and have been doing that most of the time up, until maybe 7 years ago the car bug got me again, Opened a body shop and started doing auto restorations body work, painting, custom fabrication. Still doing loans in the office. Sounds crazy but it works, 5 cars in the autorama in Sacramento this past year...I am looking forward t...Expand for more
o the next decade reunion (had a blast at the last one) stayed until it closed then off for breakfast on Soscal ave. (hey where did everyone go??????????) I was hoping the Mount George was still open (its probably someone's house by now) could have danced the night away. It was great seeing so many people, not only from our class but from the others. Talking about the crazy times in Napa, Thursday night downtown (cruize)(before they ruined the main area!) Remember the squirt gun fights car to car, still have the article good ole Napa Register, A&W, Mels, Great place to be from and to grow up in! Butter Cream Donuts, Big Ranch Road drag races! Sharing a bottle of Ranier ale? Parking up at the Moni'stary (see can I still spell), Mafaties (sp) at Lawyers, Kenny's Drive in, Parks Victory Hospital, Uptown theater (side door entry?) sock hops at Redwood and Ridgeview (what happened?)the place was new, when I was there. Speaking of sock hops, what about the Pow Wow? Chicks drive in 19 cent hamburger. The Sonoma Notch was a high road pass and Westwood was the only neighborhood outside of town. Oh, my picture, with the Red car yes it is a Henry J, not mine though, Remember the Pea Green one?, it was painted by my brother's friend Art Himsl, who would have guessed! Graduation day for 1963, someone poured oil on the exit out the high school parking lot, better call Hasmat !!! ha. lots a tire burning there, Hope this note brings a smile for those who remember and I wish everyone well..........see you at the next reunion...
