Jim's Story

Hello-- I jumped from Kirkman Tech, (or, should I say I escaped from "Boone Hysinger?" That would be more correct.) right into the Navy in the fall of '60- so didn't quite make it to graduation. Did my basic training in San Diego, and from there was stationed in the MAA office for a few months, and then the weather office at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas for almost two years and there completed HS and 1 yr college equiv. Then transfered to NS Midway Island untill my mustering out at Treasure Island in San Francisco. After my tour, I settled in the high desert of So. California where I met Alice, to whom I am still married after 46 years. (Two daughte...Expand for more
rs and three grandsons.) I got my Degree in construction technology from our local communitee college and retired from the HVAC, construction industry. On trips back to visit with family, I was surprised to see that Kirkman had been demolished. I try to get back at least once a year, usually around May or June, sometimes more, to visit Dad and my brother and sisters who still live in East Chattanooga and Rossville, Ga My favorite hobbies: Hunting, camping, building accurate rifles, reloading my own ammo, target shooting, and more receintly Geocaching. Jim PS: My trips back to the Chattanooga has changed since my Dad passed away in Jan of '10.
