Jim's Story
Life
I graduated from Wabash College in 1984, with a BA in Economics. Worked in the Insurance industry for a year and hated it. My father died back in Gary so I moved home in Feb. '85 to help my mom out and took a job teaching and coaching at Calumet. After an arduous few years working on an Education degree at PUC, I earned a teaching license and am now an 18 year veteran. ate Champions, since I began here and we have enjoyed tremendous team success as well, including: 7 Conference titles; 15 Sectional crowns; 7 Regional Championships; & we have competed in the Mean 16 twice (Sweet 16 sounds too much like basketball). I married Michele Ralph/CHS '82 in 1989 and we have two beautiful daughters in Megan(9)& Rachel(4)who keep us on our toes. I am teaching Social Studies (Gov't & Econ) at the high school and have taught many of the children of my schoolmates.
