After high school, I served 4 years in the USAF. I attended Boot Camp at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, then spent 1+ years in Biloxi Mississippi at Keesler AFB, studying Airborne Electronics. Then I was stationed for approx. 6 months at Bergstrom AFB, Austin TX before being sent overseas. I spent one year with the 432nd Combat Support Group stationed at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base at Udon Thani, Thailand. I worked on RF4C Avionics, INS/RADAR, Forward-Looking RADAR, Side-Looking RADAR and the Perkin-Elmer AVD-2 LASER system. In 1969, I was stationed back stateside at Forbes AFB, Topeka, Kansas. I got my honorable discharge in 1970 and remained in Topeka, eventually starting a career with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. In 1996 the Burlington Northern Railroad purchased the AT&SF and became the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co. A few years later, they officially changed the name of the railroad to the BNSF Railway Co. In 2002, I transferred to Temple TX and worked for the railroad there, until November, 2011 when I took a transfer to Alliance, Nebraska to supervise in the railroad's Heavy Repair Shop there. On Halloween, 2018, I retired from the BNSF Railway Co, with 45 years if service. We moved back from Alliance, Nebraska to Copperas Cove, Texas in November of 2018 In January of 2022 my mpther passed away at the age of 92.
