Jimi's Story
Life
Well, I can't believe anyone would actually want to read my bio. ha ha But since you're here, I hope you find it entertaining.
Jimi.
_________
After high school I enrolled in West Valley Junior College and had a slew of majors and the occasional fencing class. From there I transferred out to Sacramento State where I suffered through unbearable heat and many people with bad (good?) mullets. So, with a couple of sun burns from floating down the American River, I finally graduated with my Finance Degree.
I kicked around the financial industry and ended up back in the bay area working for Franklin Templeton Financial Services in San Mateo. I had a few jobs with them but ended up becoming a Business Analyst within their internet group. "Business Analyst", a generic title that can mean thousands of things...but in my case fell into the realm of project management which focused on getting new funcitionality or content up to their existing web site. Whoo Hoo! exciting? not really.
So the good/latest stuff:
At 29 I was single, living in SF and I had a decent job but it really wasn't making me want to get up out of bed in the morning..."Yawn"... So at that point(I actually think I might of had my mid-life crisis, which of course means that i'm g...Expand for more
onna die at 58) I evaluted everything that was important to me..and what I really wanted to do...
...and I quit my job. Enrolled in Culinary School in SF. Aftet completing their courses...my first job out was with the Hilton Waikoloa on the Big Island of Hawaii. So for that past year I was cooking out on the island and working on my tan and my pidgen' english.
I returned back to the bay area in June of 04', wondering what the heck I was going to do. I visited a few places around the country to see if living abroad would be an option (N.Y., Vegas, Monterey...) but, in every instance, I realized that I wanted to stay in the bay area. This is where I grew up. This is where the people that matter the most are... This is the place where I would like to make a difference, and actually add value back into the society that I owe so much too...
So now: I'm currently living in San Francisco (please don't call it "Frisco"). I am working at a very small botique hotel with a fine dining restaurant and living out in the Richmond area. I'm freezing my proverbial butt off ever since I left the islands, but i'm loving it just the same. (1/05)
I wish everyone reading this, good health and happiness. Feel free to let me know what's up with you.
