Jo Ellen's Story
Life
2015 I am now living in Wasilla, Alaska, and married to a great guy named Harvey!
We got married in 2011, and have been having a good time ever since/.
I work as a caregiver and enjoy it.
I'm currently in Indianapolis, Indiana, visitng friends and family. It is wonderful! I am working on genealogy and simply enjoying each day.
I have been very busy!
I joined the U.S. Army in 1967 and went to journalism school. After that I served at Ft. McNair in Washington, D.C. for a while.
I also got to go to Camp Zama, Japan. It was a great opportunity!
I later attended Brigham Young University at Prove, Utah.
In 1972 I moved to Santa Barbara, California. I attended Santa Barbara City College and graduated with an associate degree in marketing management.
I also married Michael Dunlap in 1973.
I was divorced in 1975, and remarried, etc.
I was a single mom for a number of years, raising a beautiful family. Then I married William Abbott. Together we raised my eight children. My youngest just turned 18 July 4th.
I've spent a number of years at home with my children.
Since about ten years ago, I've worked a variety of jobs. I currently work in disability services.
I've also lived in a variety of places - Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Goleta, Santa Ana, California; Salt ...Expand for more
Lake City and Grantsville, Utah; NAS Willow Grove, PA.
By the way, I joined the Naval Reserve in 1973, and was stationed at NAS Willow Grove in 1980 and 1981. While there I took the editor's training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
I love animals. Right now I have a small dog named Kiki and three cats- Midnight, Smoke, and Kuroy. Also four kittens!
I like to fish, read, and play music. I also enjoy working on genealogy and visiting with family and friends.
I am very happy. I play the music for church and teach a class in Relief Society (women's class).
I enjoy traveling, too.
In fact, one of my dream jobs would be to serve on a cruise ship! Then I could see the world and get paid at the same time! I especially love the sea!
One of the high points of my summer was cruising around Resurrection Bay. One one trip,I saw a humpbacked whale,a pod of Orca, a sea otter, and lots of stellar sea lions.
I also caught several salmon this summer. It is the first time I have ever caught salmon. I ate soome, and put some in my freezer.
I've been a Home Alliance Coordinator for the past year, and am now planning to go traveling. I just got my passpoet photos taken.
I'm considering a trip to England, Scotland, and Germany either this summer or this winter. Who knows?
