Jo-Nyla's Story
Life - Jesus Christ is a big part of my life. I sing on our Praise Team at our local church which I have attended over 15+yrs and teach the Early Elementary Sunday School in my church; Basically, I enjoy my life as it is right now.
School - I was very shy and withdrawn, was always the kid that everyone picked on until I was in High School. I was still a bit shy, however, the last three years of high school I would have to say were the best. The schools that I attended were in smaller towns and it seemed easier to make friends. I did not have a whole lot of friends because I found it difficult to make friends. However, in my Junior Year I met a special young lady by the name of Janice Knichel Peak and well, the rest is history. Janice and I have been friends since 1972 and I thank the Lord Jesus above for her friendship. Our friendship has been put to the test and it is stronger and growing stronger even after all these years. God Bless You Janice Knichel Peak forevermore and thank you for becoming my life-long friend.
Workplace - I really did not know what I wanted to do specifically after I graduated high school. I worked at a variety of places from McDonalds to Kmart; from Eye Doctor Offices to Foot Doctor Offices and various other small to large corporations. I found that Administrative Support was my niche; therefore, I threw my talents, skills and knowledge into this field to develop and maintain this area of expertise. I have to say that I have been in this career field for over 40 years and I LOVE IT!!!
I always wanted to be a wife, mother and grandmother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong as God intended for me to be a spiritual mom as I have taught children a good part of my spiritual walk with the Lord. Was that my heart's desire? No! But I may not have had physical children, but I certainly have had a lot of spiritual children and I have seen Jesus do some amazing things in these children's lives and that is such a MAJOR BLESSING because I had input into each of their lives when they were young and impressionable. The children in my current church are teens and some young adults; but to see them grow up so fast, some get married and having children of their own is such a WONDERFUL BLESSING.
This has been a complete challenge for me, dealing with anger, but I am finding out that as a Christian and a believer in Jesus Christ, it is alright to experience anger, but we must not sin with our anger. However, if we do sin...Expand for more
I know I can confess that sin and Jesus will forgive me. But if I do get upset, I just have to take several deep breaths, put on some good contemporary praise and worship and ask Jesus to help me thru this episode. Year after year as I commit my life to the service of the Lord Jesus the Holy Spirit has tempered my emotions and used them to bring glory and honor to Him. Also, I have been able to be a witness and a testimony that has touched many lives because they see my life being changed as I commit to the guidance of the hand of the Holy Spirit who is our comforter, counselor and teacher to walk the walk and talk the talk just like Jesus when he walked this earth. No, I haven't arrived to perfection but God is perfecting those things that concern me which is so EXCITING and the best way to walk this Christian life.
As for a physical hero, no I don't have one; however, I do receive my inspiration from the Pastors of my local church. They are a super great blessing to my life and I love them dearly. They are so anointed and the words they preach are always what I need when I need it. God Bless Them.
My pets are my shining stars in my life. Their love is so unconditional and it is so wonderful to come home from a hard day at work and see them barking with great joy to see you and have them jump upon you because they are so excited that you are home and Let's Play. I have two pets......I have Cheeka which is a female Chihuahua/Terrier Mix and she is almost 2-years old. She is so sweet but a bit of a stinker too. I found her one night out walking my other dogs and a neighbor was looking for a new home for her or they were going to take her to the dog pound and I wasn't going to have that as they would have put her down; so she came home with me. I have had Clem for almost 6-years. He is a male Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua and he is a little sweetheart/stinker, but I still love him. He was a miracle found my sister one day on the street running towards her. Long story short he ended up in my home and is a real blessing. Having pets is such a wonderful joy in my life as I walk with the Lord Jesus as their love is so unconditional. Please don't abuse these precious little one's as none of them deserve it. They only want to be loved and give love, so please love them back and support any and all reputable Animal Shelters as their are some very loving, sweet little babies waiting for a warm loving hug, to see loving hands pet them, and a warm comfortable lap to lay instead of the hand of abuse touching them.
