Life
Hello everyone. I have ended up in the Northern Virginia area and it's nothing like home. After high school, I went to National Business College in Lynchburg for 2 years and got a diploma in data processing. I spent the last 3 years taking classes over the internet through Strayer University and got a bachelors degree in Business Mangement in December of 2002.
I got married in 1989 to the wrong man (of course) and ended up divorced. I do have a beautiful 14 year old daughter named Amanda who keeps me running. Her favorite hobby in life is shopping.
I have a few good friends up here in the city and I have been able to get tidbits of information on quite a few of you through my brother-in-law Franky Metcalf. He married my little sister, Jill. I get home to see mom about every 2 months or so and would love to see some of you. This summer when talking to Franky I thought about an informal class reunion. Maybe at Shoney's in Farmville. e could meet and bring the kids. Everybody could pay their own way and just have dinner without too much expense. As long as you warn Shoney's ahead of time they should be ok. I had talked to them about doing a family reunion there a couple years ago.
I don't know if any of you remember how shy I use to be, but I have come out of it quite a bit from being up here. It was a case of you either opened your mouth and talked or you didn't get the job. My job requires a lot of talking. I try to get other people to correct the mistakes I find in their work. I work as a contractor to the U. S. Customs Service and have been here for 9 years. At present I am looking to change jobs, but there isn't much market for what I do. But I do work with a wonderful bunch of people and I am only 15 minutes from work.
I don't know what else to say right now but I do think of many you quite often and wonder how you are. And of course I hate to write. But I would love to hear from some of you.
