Joan's Story
My High School times have always embarrassed me because I was such a screw up. I never could get with the program of the others in High School. University was a whole other thing. Somehow I was successful at OSu in grades and friends. Go figure. I got a teaching degree because my parents wanted me to have a fall back job but I never did teach formally. Informally, yes. I have gone to several universities and colleges as I followed my husband through his internship and residence programs. I had a great deal of fun in political campaign in Philadelphia while At the U of P. Although following the candidate around to the endless luncheons and dinners and street corners I did get tired of creamed chicken, peas and the always-served eclairs. There I learned alot about city planning.

f of Professional Services for Medical Research. And, as every one of you know by this time, that with a title like that the pay is in reverse proportion. Liveable but not great.
While the children were young I worked slowly on a degree in fine arts which was my dream. then I looked for one economics and business because that was the rage in the 70's and 80's. I was in competition with my children for grades and I lost. I didn't think a "B" was failing but as pre-med, obsessive compulsive types they did. I have to tell you I took alot of stuff from my kids,
I put in 14 years on the Montgomery Plan Commission , and then in 1984 joined the Montgomery County Investment
Committee. No I am a community volunteer, chairing levies, raising money for worthwhile parojects.The biggest surprize for anyone who knew me when I was young is that I ended up such a boring solid citizen.
