Joan's Story

Life Hi Everyone! I haven't strayed far from Litchfield--I raised my family in Morris. Bob and I have 4 great kids, now grown, and 3 beautiful grandsons. Jayne has a son James, 15, born in Australia where she lived with her Australian husband for 8 years. Jayne and her husband Jim and the two boys James and Jack (born December 19, 2000,) now live in Bantam. James attends Litchfield High School. Amy has a son Lucas, 8, and lives in San Diego. Edward and Wendy are single and live in Litchfield and Torrington respectively. Bob is now retired (early). We travel a great deal keeping up with our friends and family in California and Australia. I'd like to hear from anyone from the Class of '64. An update. Jayne passed away 1/31/09. Her sons are now 26 and 15. ED still lives in Litchfield and is single. Amy lives in MD and Lucas is now 20, and a daughter Vivienne, 5 months. Wendy is marrie...Expand for more
d to a 21 year Navy veteran and has 2 daughters, Vanessa 11 and Kendall 2, and a daughter due in April. Retirement is sweet and I get to spoil all of my grandkids. College As I was raising my family, I went to college on and off. In 1972, I graduated from the Waterbury Hospital LPN program. In 1979, I graduated from Northwestern CT CC, (A.S. in Behavioral Science.) In 1981, I graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing (R.N.). Through independent study, credit transfers, and CLEP, I earned a B.S. via Charter Oak College. M.S. degree? UGH, no time, kids keep me busy!!!! Retirement is in sight. I'm going to take it easy!!!! New Update 2017. 2 new grandbabies: Kierrah Gwynn Caffrey, 4/7/2016 (Wendy and Craig Caffrey), and Abiageal Marie Hopkins, 3/10/2018 (Amy and Joe Hopkins). Grammy sure has a lot of traveling to do. 12/1/2016, I lost my darling husband of 53 years to cancer.
