Joan's Story

I spent the 13 years between Kindergarten and HS graduation living in the same house. There were about a dozen of us in the BHS class of 1969 who were together that entire time, and probably another 75 of us who were together from Peck. After college graduation, I moved 9 times in the following 11 years, then 6 times since then. I finally got to Europe in my 30s (belated junior year abroad or mid-life crisis...), met and married my soulmate (21 years and counting). I worked for the Federal Government, a couple of small companies, a company with 1,000,000+ employees, and, for the last 18 years, for myself as an independent contractor. (Real Estate Broker) I went to a couple of early reunions and crossed paths with a few classmates in the past. Then, in November, my mother passed away, and I was back in Barrington for her funeral. One of my classmates from Mrs. Gardiner's kindergarten through high school graduation came up to me at St. Lukes. It meant the world to me to have her there. It also made me realize how I've lost contact with so many people with whom I walked, played, sang and danced through the 1950s and 60s. (Does anyone else remember drinking a milk toast to President Eisenhower every day with Big Brother Bob Emery, while the band played "Hail to the Chief"?) ct. I'd also like to offer my professional real estate services free of charge to you or anyone you know who wants to buy or sell real estate anywhere (you'd only pay me if you were moving to or from Hudson County, NJ). Given the state of the real estate market in this country for the last 2 years, the ranks of real estate agents are shrinking. This "thinning of the herd" is removing a lot of agents who got into the business because they thought it was an easy and cheap way to make a lot of money. HA! If you are buying or selling in this uncertain market, you need a great agent to assist you. Some of the best buying opportunities we're likely ever to see exist RIGHT NOW, and, if you need to sell, having a good agent is critical, but how do you find one? I've been networking among some of the best agents within the real estate community for some time. If you tell me what you need and where, I can find one or more specialist agents there for you to choose from. I can even prescreen them. You are under no obligation, and this is not an imposition on me. On the contrary, professional agent-to-agent referral fees (paid by the agent who successfully sells the house) are a significant source of business. Almost all of my business is either repeat or referral. Your referral will help you find the right agent AND help me stay in business.
