Joan's Story

Graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Nursing in 1973. Worked in and around metropolitan Washington DC most of my career. Earned a Masters in Nursing Administration from George Mason University in 1986. Was one of the first 500 nurses in the United States to be certified by the ANCC as an informatics nurse. cs. Have mentored graduate nursing students pursuing careers in nursing informatics. As an informatics nurse I have worked for large information technology consulting firms, healthcare software vendors, academic medical centers and community hospitals. I build, implement, train users and support hospital personnel and physicians to use state of the art clinical computer systems.
