Joann's Story
I married my soulmate in 1976, Pat Smith (Palmdale High '67). Hey, he keeps me in fresh flowers and rubs my feet.... I am definately spoiled..... But hey now, I also spoil him...... We have traveled extensively including living in Bolivia and Bangladesh in his line of work. Power lines are in his blood. As for me? We raised 3 kids of our own and we occasionally took in strays and graduated 3 of them. We did the Scout Leader and Day Camp Director thing for our sons and daughter while living in Windsor, Colorado and Craig Alaska. That was a ton of outdoor fun. We spent 9 years on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. I worked as a Services Coordinator for families who had children with disabilities, adults with...Expand for more
disabilities, and older Alaskans. It was a rewarding humbling experience. At the same time I was a behavior management specialist at the local K-12 school. I got to keep a close eye on the kids growing up. We still have our property there and one son now lives there and has 3 of our 7 grandchildren so we are back and forth to Alaska... Now I understand why they are called GRAND Children... Cause they are just that..... GRAND... We are now in Southwest Washington retiref and traveling every chance we get. We frequent the Napa Valley, New Mexico, Alaska, and where ever we may roam. I hope to run into a few of ya'll some day. I have wondered what you guys have been up to all these years.
