JOANNA's Story
I moved to NC August 2007. Two sons, Lance (54) and Justin (50). Lance was a Major in U.S. Marine Corp. 23 yrs. Now retired. Justin is a former Marine and is a Deputy Sheriff II with the Stanly County Sheriff's Dept., here in Stanly County, NC. Both served in Iraq and Lance spent several months in Afghanistan in 2009. Lance's son, Tanner, is 25 and Justin and his wife, Sarah have two children, Elizabeth 21 and Justin Jr 14. Elizabeth got married last year and I am now Great-Grandma to little Kinsley! a secretary for the school district. I was even "the principal's secretary" for seven years! Due to a bad fall and three carpal tunnel operations, I retired in 2003. I don't get to as much traveling as I used to but, I spend time reading and relaxing now which I never had much time for before between working and raising my two sons. I don't get back to LI as often as I would like. My brother, Philip, (Class of '69) passed in April 2007. My dad passed in 2008. My mom sold her house in FL and moved here to NC. My mom passed away November 2018. My younger brother, Gus and his wife, live in FL. I am hoping to see everyone at a reunion again someday.
