Joanne's Story
After reading an article in National Geographic about San Francisco, I packed up my car and moved there. It was such a perfect time - just before "The Summer of Love." I taught elementary school for two years and then returned to school (SF State) for an M.A. I married Jim Dickson in 1969.

eras with such superstars as Pavarotti and Jose Carraras. I worked for many years as an art critic for local and national magazines and newspapers. I returned to school in 1990 and got an M.A. in clinical psychology. I moved to Mendocino after Jim and I split up. I live near the ocean with my collie, Ashley.
Mendocino is a small town somewhere between politically correct and the best of the 1940s.
